Primus Saver’s New Call Telecom to bring call centre from Mumbai to Burnley
UK, Monday, 04 July, 2011
New Call Telecom has announced its plans to move its Indian call centre operation
currently based in Mumbai back to the UK. The chosen location for the new call centre
is Burnley, Lancashire.
New Call Telecom has expressed a commitment to its UK operations and customer base
since it purchased the retail assets of Primus Telecommunications UK back in Oct
2010. Moving the call centre from Mumbai to Burnley is part of this overall strategy.
While New Call does not expect to incur significant cost savings from the move,
the combination of improved customer experience and committed local staff with the
current business climate of increasing costs in India and a depressed market in
the UK has informed the decision to bring call centre operations back to the UK.
New Call Telecom’s CEO Nigel Eastwood says:
“Having been born and raised in Burnley I am, of course, very familiar with
the area and the people. I think this is a wonderful opportunity to help improve
the local economy and ensure that our customers are receiving the best service we
can give them. For us, good value very much includes good service.”
Further to the new Burnley call centre, New Call Telecom also plans to expand its
Glasgow and London offices in the near future.
